bad crime...

I opened up my car this morning, only to discover that it was already open. The glove compartment had been thoroughly rummaged through, the maintenance logs were all lying scattered on the passenger seat, and so on.

Knowing that there was nothing in there worth stealing, I wasn't really too bothered - just part of life in South Africa. But I was a little disturbed as I picked up all the paperwork and put it back - among the receipts for services and broken glass replacements was R30 in notes.

Frankly I'm disappointed by any would-be thief who manages to get into a car and then is sufficiently unobservant as to not notice cash lying under his nose...
